José is a Sundance Latino Screenwriting Fellow, a 2020 Nicholl Fellowship semifinalist, and a 2023 Writers Guild Foundation Veterans Writing Project fellow.
He has more than 20 years experience editing, directing, and producing documentary television and independent film. A native of the Bronx, José’s experience as an editor, school teacher, parent, military intelligence analyst, and volunteer firefighter directly impacts his writing.
From dramas to thrillers, he crafts authentic, boots-on-the-ground stories about the ever-changing multicultural American experience.
